Terms of Use
Wall Stare · effective 23 August 2026
Wall Stare is an app that asks you to stop and look at a wall for a few minutes. These are the terms you accept by using it.
Your licence
Wall Stare is licensed, not sold, to you for personal use on Apple devices you own or control. Unless we have given you separate terms in writing, your licence is Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement, which is at apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/dev/stdeula. Where that agreement and this page disagree, that agreement wins.
The free app, and the paid tier
The core of the app - starting a session, staring, and the total that comes out of it - is free, and stays free. The paid tier adds convenience around it. Nothing you have already done is taken away if you do not pay, and if a paid subscription lapses your total and your history stay exactly as they are.
Subscriptions and renewal
The paid tier is sold in three shapes, and the price of each is shown in your own currency on the purchase screen in the app, before you buy:
- Monthly - renews every month until cancelled
- Annual - renews every year until cancelled
- One-time - a single payment, no renewal
The two subscriptions renew automatically. Apple charges the payment method on your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and again within 24 hours before the end of each period, at the price shown for the next period. To stop a renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends, in Settings › your name › Subscriptions on your device. Cancelling stops future charges; the tier stays on until the period you have already paid for runs out. We cannot cancel a subscription for you, because we never hold it.
Purchases are made with Apple, so refunds are Apple's to give. Requests go through reportaproblem.apple.com. If something in the app went wrong, write to us as well and we will help where we can.
Prices can change. A change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and Apple asks you to agree to it before any renewal at a higher price.
What this app is not
Wall Stare is not a medical device and not a health service. It gives no medical, psychological or therapeutic advice, and nothing in it should be used in place of advice from a qualified professional. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor anything.
Do not start a session while driving, operating machinery, or anywhere that needs your attention. The app deliberately asks you to stop paying attention to your surroundings for a few minutes, and it is on you to only do that somewhere it is safe.
Fair use
Do not decompile, resell or redistribute the app, and do not try to unlock the paid tier without paying for it. That is the whole list.
No warranty, and what we are liable for
The app is provided as it is. We do not promise it is free of bugs, that a reminder will always arrive, or that a session sound will always play - iOS decides when notifications are delivered, and a phone that is off or out of battery delivers nothing. Do not use Wall Stare as an alarm for anything that matters.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. We do not exclude liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected by anything on this page.
Changes
If these terms change, the date at the top changes with them. Continuing to use the app after that date means accepting the new version.
Law, and contact
These terms are governed by German law, and nothing in them takes away the protection of the consumer law of the country you live in.
